The newspaper says we do not care about the war anymore. That is a lie. We never stopped caring. The media has simply quit reporting about it.

i am not my stereotype

Today, in Oregon, no one referred to me as Cuban American. Today, I was simply, as usual, linda. Today in the open art session, i was a struggling, newbie artist. Not a label.

I was born in San Francisco, daughter of a Cuban and a Latvian who met during WW2. I am an old hippie, feminist woman. But during this election debacle, I am branded, simply, a Cuban American.
